Narrow is the Way

Who is the Liar?

Is Yahshuah a Liar?

Is Yahshuah a liar? Would you ever think to call him a liar? What do you think would be the fate of someone who did?

There are many who unwittingly do just that. Are you among them? Those guilty persons would vehemently deny such a charge, and certainly they do not mean to intentionally dishonor their Savior, but in essence, that is what they are doing.  How are they doing this?  By twisting scriptures such as Romans 6:14; Romans 7:6; Romans 10:4 and many more. And then using those scriptures out of context to claim the law of Yahweh has been abolished, when in fact, Yahshuah, in Matthew 5:17-19 said just the opposite.

For background, here is what Paul said in Romans 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for you are not under the law, but under grace.  And in Romans 7:6 he said, But now we have been discharged from the law, having died to that in which we were held; so that we serve in newness of the spirit, and not in oldness of the letter.

Selectively taking these verses out of context, it is understandable how some could conclude that the law was abolished, IF, that were their objective. And if, their belief was that, "where there is no law, their is no sin".  But Paul never said here in Romans, or anywhere else that the law was abolished. He did say that without the law, he would not know what sin is.  Paul was simply saying in his epistles, that as followers of Yahshuah, we should not live our lives as slaves to sin, but righteously, as Yahshuah did.

John defined sin in 1 John 3:4, as "the transgression of the law", and we as mortal beings are still capable of transgressing the law and therefore, still able to sin. Paul's message was, that as followers of Yahshuah, we are no longer to continue sinning. Paul most certainly taught obedience to Yahweh's law. When reading Paul's epistles, it should be done so in their entirety to fully understand his message and intent, not selectively, to suit one's own agenda or to force the scriptures to say something that they don't.

Because we are saved by grace does not mean the law is abolished and that we can no longer sin, and that was not what Paul was saying.  One of his strongest statements in support of keeping Yahweh's law is found in

1 Corinthians 7:19 where he contrasted the merits of circumcision with the merits of Yahweh's commandments. "Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of Yahweh accounts for everything".  Another strong statement is found in Romans 2:13, here he said,  "for the hearers of the law are not just before Yahweh; but the doers of the law shall be justified".

Claiming that Yahweh's law has been abolished is as satanic as Satan's deception of Eve. They are parallel lies!

Here is what Yahshuah himself said in Matthew 5:17-19 about whether or not He came to abolish the law. "Think not that I came to destroy the law or the prophets; I came not to destroy, but to fulfil. (18) For truly I say to you, Till heaven and earth pass away, one yothe or one tittle shall in no wise pass away from the law, till all things be accomplished. (19) Whoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men to do so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven: but whoever shall do and teach them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven." Notice if you will, Yahshuah uses the terms, law and commandments, interchangibly.

Heaven and earth has not yet passed away, and since Yahshuah has not yet returned to establish Yahweh's kingdom on this earth, all has not been fulfilled.

Yahshuah spoke clearly and to the point. Yahweh's law has not been abolished, and according to His own words, anyone who teaches so is directly contradicting Him and is in serious spiritual trouble. I dare say, they are calling him A LIAR!  not only did Yahshuah not abolish the law, but in fact, He expanded it. Matthew 5:27-28, "You have heard that it was said, You shall not commit adultery (28) but I say to you, that everyone that looks on a woman to lust after her has comitted adultery with her already in his heart".

Let's ask Yahshuah Himself whether or not we should keep the commandments. Matthew 19:16-17 And behold, one came to him and said, Good Teacher, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? (17) and he said to him, Why do you ask me concerning that which is good? One there is who is good: but if you would enter into life, keep the commandments. That does not sound as though He intended abolishing the law.

The person then asked exactly which commandments Yahshuah meant. Did He have the ten commandments in mind or those extra biblical dictates taught by other religious leaders of His day? Yahshuah left no doubt. He responded by: "You shall not murder," "You shall not commit adultery," "You shall not steal," "You shall not bear false witness," "Honor your father and your mother," and "You shall love your neighbor as yourself". he was clearly referring to the law of Yahweh, not to the restrictions imposed by other religious leaders. And though not stated, rest assured, the first, second, third, and fourth commandments were intended to be obeyed as well, which include keeping the sabbath, and not using the Name (Yahweh) in vain.

In John 14:21 we learn what Yahshuah had to say about those who keep His commandments. "He that has my commandments, and keeps them, he it is that loves me; and he that loves me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him".

And in conclusion, 1 John 2:4 He that says, I know him, and keeps not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him;

So who is the liar?  Is it Yahshuah, or those who claim Yahweh's law was nailed to the cross and abolished?
