Why Did Yahweh Create Mankind ?

What was Yahweh’s purpose for creating mankind and what is mankind’s destiny? Surprisingly, very few know the answer to those questions. Yet it need not be so. The Holy Scriptures make it abundantly clear as to what man’s ultimate destiny is. The answers are right there for those who truly seek the truth.
Religious leaders have fallen woefully short of knowing or teaching why man exists. Yet the answer is abundantly clear in Genesis 1:26. Yahweh we are told, is literally reproducing himself through man. Yahweh, made man to be His children in His own Family. Most religious leaders teach that the reward of the saved is to go to heaven and spend all eternity there in the presence of “God“. Ask them what exactly they will be doing there for all eternity, and guaranteed, you will not receive a biblically based response. Why? Because few religious leaders know why man was created and for what purpose.
Proof begins to unfold in the very first chapter of the first book of the Holy Scriptures in Genesis 1:26, where Yahweh declares that He will make man in His image and likeness.. How much clearer can that be? Yet it is considered blasphemous to suggest that we humans are destined to be spiritual children in the family of Yahweh. How sad that such an incredible truth has been hidden from man by the false, Satan led teachers of this world.
Please understand that even though Yahweh is reproducing Himself through humans, it is not being suggested that humans will take the place of the Father or to knock Him off His throne as Lucifer attempted. Man will never take the place of Yahweh the Father or Yahshuah the Son. Deified humans will always owe all praise and honor to the two divine Persons who confer divinity on them. Yah is eternal and self-existent, man is not and can never become fully as Yah. However, man can be given the gift of eternal life (salvation) and can share in the same nature as Yah and have the same divine magnificence. The fact that man is not eternal and self-existent does not mean that man can never possess all the attributes of divinity by adoption. That man may become like Yah is not merely the elevation of man to the eternal plane, but the glorification of Yahweh Himself in man. It serves to magnify Yahweh, not to minimize Him.
Yahshuah, as the begotten Son of Yahweh, conceived and born human to Mary the virgin, was the first human to be resurrected and the first to ascend to Heaven. Yahshuah, is the only true Son of Yahweh the Father because He is the only being begotten by the Spirit of the Almighty and born by a human woman. All other humans entering into the family of Yahweh will do so by adoption, to be joint-heirs with Yahshuah Messiah.
John 16:25-28 I have told you these things in parables; but the time comes when I will no longer speak to you in parables, but I will tell you plainly about the Father. (26) In that day you will ask in my Name, and I do not say I will ask the Father on your behalf, (27) for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me, and have believed that I came out of Yahweh. (28) I came out of the Father, and have come into the world. Again, I leave the world and go to the Father.
Rom 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of Yahweh, they are the sons of Yahweh. (15) For you have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but you have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. (16) Yahweh’s Spirit itself testifies with our spirit, that we are the children of Yahweh: (17) And if children, then heirs: heirs of Yahweh, and joint-heirs with Yahshuah; if so be that we suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified together.
Rom 8:22 For we know that the whole creation has been groaning, as in the labor of childbirth, right up to the present time. (23) And not only they, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for the adoption; the redemption of our body
Gal 4:1 Now I say, as long as the heir is an infant, he is no different than a slave, although he is to be ruler of all; (2) But is under the subjection of teachers and office holders until the time appointed by the father. (3) So we also, when we were infants, we were enslaved under the elements of the world; (4) But when the appointed time had fully come, Yahweh sent forth His Son, coming into existence from a woman, coming into existence under subjection of the Law, (5) In order that those who were under the subjection of the Law might receive the adoption of sons. (6) And because you are sons, Yahweh sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, which cries: Abba! Father! (7) And because He is your Father, you are no longer a slave but a son; and if a son, then an heir of Yahweh through Messiah.
Eph 1:3 Blessed be Yahweh, the Father of our King Yahshuah Messiah, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings of the heavens in the Messiah; (4) Because He chose us with Him before the foundation of the world, that we were to be holy and without blame before Him in love; (5) Preordaining us to be His children by adoption through Yahshuah Messiah, according to the righteous pleasure of His Plan.
But why man? As asked by King David in Psalm 144:3 Yahweh, what is man, that you take knowledge of him? Or, the son of man, that you are mindful of him? The purpose of man on earth must have a definite relation to the purpose of the Almighty Creator. To understand this relationship and the reason for it, we need to first understand some things about the angelic realm. Scripture reveals a very real but invisible world. Another dimension existing along with ours and indiscernible to our five senses. It is what we refer to as, “the spirit world”.
This invisible but very real spirit world was created before all else. Before physical matter and before the universe (Job 38: 1-7). Those angels (Malakim in the Hebrew), were created spirit just as Yahweh is Spirit, but on a lower plane than Yahweh. Angels, were created to aid in the work of creating, governing and managing what was to be created. They were to be ministers, agents, helpers in Yahweh’s creation and to be servants of Yahweh. They were not however, incapable of sinning.
2 Peter 2:4 For if Yahweh did not spare the angels WHO SINNED (emphasis mine), but will cast them into the abyss, delivering them into chains of darkness to be reserved for judgment.
There are a couple of points that need to be interjected here before continuing on. First of all, angels can sin, and man can sin. The wages of sin for those angels (about one third of all of the angels) who were deceived into sinning by their leader, Satan, are to be cast into the abyss and reserved for judgment. The wages of sin for man, is death (Romans 6:23), not the first death, that first physical death that we all face, but the second death, after having been brought back to life for judgment. That death is reserved for anyone not found in the Book of Life, that death is by the Lake of Fire. That is the ultimate punishment, to be totally destroyed and forgotten as though one never existed.
Rev 21:7 He who overcomes will inherit all things; and I will be his Father, and he will be My son. (8) But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murders, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and worshipers of gods, and all liars, will have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone-which is the second death.
And what exactly is sin? SIN IS THE TRANSGRESSION OF THE LAW (1 John 3:4).
And so right here and now, I say to all of you false and deceitful ministers who teach that the law was nailed to the cross, and say that you are saved by grace alone, STOP! Stop teaching that terrible and abominable lie of your father Satan. Yahshuah said clearly in John 14:15, “If you love me, keep my commandments”, and in John 15:10, If you keep my commandments , you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s LAWS, and abide in His love”. Yahweh’s laws were not nailed to the cross. Only those SACRIFICIAL LAWS were nailed to the cross by the sacrifice of our Savior Yahshuah Messiah. There can be only one reason why you would continue to perpetuate such an awful lie, and that is because you are wolves in sheep’s clothing doing the work of your father, Satan. Nor are we talking about those Old Testament Laws that required death by stoning or quarantining or cleansing. Those laws were for that time and place, although some would do well to be restored to this Sodom and Gomorrah secular world we inhabit in this day. No, the Laws that Yahshuah was referencing and that WERE NOT NAILED TO THE CROSS, are those perfect Laws of Yahweh, that Moses brought down from the mountain. Those PERFECT Ten Commandments. And they were most certainly not nailed to the cross.
And by teaching Sunday as Yahweh's sabbath, using pagan names and titles for the Father and the Son, teaching that man has an immortal soul, allowing erroneous artist depictions of the Messiah to be plastered about the walls of your sanctuaries, to falsely proclaim December 25th as the birthdate of Yahshuah, all these teachings and more are sin, and you false ministers are guilty of causing your parishioners to sin. There is no excuse for your actions.
Continuing on now with why Yahweh created mankind and the need to understand something about the angelic realm. Between verse 1 and verse 2 of Genesis 1 there could have been a time period of millions, perhaps billions of years. That is a mystery that scientists have yet to determine, and an answer we may never know until Yahshuah returns and answers the question for us. Nevertheless, prior to the recreation of the earth beginning in Genesis 1:3, this earth in which man now inhabits, was the habitation of the angels. It was their function to dress and beautify the earth in preparation for the creation of man. Lucifer, was the archangel in charge. But Lucifer, who has become known as Satan was not happy with just being the king of all the earth, he wanted it all. He wanted to ascend to Heaven and overthrow Yahweh.
Isa 14:13 For you (Yahweh, speaking about Lucifer) have said in your heart; I will ascend above the heavens; I will raise my throne above the stars of Yahweh. I will sit in the highest place on the holy mountain of the congregation (14) I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the Most High.
Lucifer lost that battle and rebelled. Instead of beautifying the earth, he destroyed the earth and convinced the angels (now known as demons) in his charge to follow him in this destruction. This brings us to Genesis 1:2.
Genesis 1:2 And the earth was [became] without form and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of Yahweh moved upon the face of the waters.
The words “without form, and void” are translated from the Hebrew tohu and bohu. A better translation is “waste and empty” or “chaotic, in confusion and in a state of decay”. The word “was” is elsewhere in Genesis also translated became, as in genesis 19:26. In other words, the earth. originally created perfect and beautiful, had now become chaotic, waste and empty, like our moon, except earth’s surface was covered with water. Genesis 1:3 begins the renewing process.
Psalm 104:30 When You send forth Your Spirit, they are created, and You RENEW (emphasis mine) the face of the earth.
The reason for interjecting these points about the sinning angels and Satan causing the devastation to the earth before its renewal and the creation of man, is twofold. First, it’s important to understand that Satan has the power to cause both angels and man to sin. For the second reason, we’ll revisit a scripture already referenced, Ephesians 1:3.
Eph 1:3 Blessed be Yahweh, the Father of our King Yahshuah Messiah, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings of the heavens in the Messiah; (4) Because He chose us with Him before the foundation of the world, that we were to be holy and without blame before Him in love; (5) Preordaining us to be His children by adoption through Yahshua Messiah, according to the righteous pleasure of His Plan.
Satan, then Lucifer, before the creation account, knew Yahweh’s plan. He knew about the coming of a Messiah, and he knew about the forthcoming creation of modern man, neither of which fit his objective to overthrow Yahweh, and to be the Most High. What vanity! Nevertheless, that was his purpose, and man, destined to be members in the Family of Yahweh was not a part of Satan’s plan, so his sole purpose then became, to stop that from happening. Having lost the battle in Heaven before the creation of modern man, he is now and since the recreation of approximately 6,000 years ago, been waging his war right here on earth. Satan’s one and only purpose is to stop man from reaching his ultimate destiny, which is, to be Yahweh’s Family. Yahweh’s purpose for mankind is to have a family relationship. Angels are spirit beings, as such, they are immortal, they can sin, but they cannot be destroyed. Man does not have an immortal soul. That is another false doctrine taught by Satan’s human ministers.
Gen 3:2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: (3) But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, Yahweh has said, You shall not eat of it, neither shall you touch it, LEST YOU DIE. Again, the emphasis is mine. Yahweh says you can die. No where in the scriptures can it be found that man has an immortal soul. That is an absolute lie. Man’s purpose is to repent and develop righteous holy character, to emulate and to be just as Yahshuah. The Almighty Father will not give the gift of eternal life in His Family to anyone who has not overcome sin. For as we have previously read, “The wages of sin is death”, and, “Sin is the transgression of the Law”.
Man was created to become members of Yahweh’s Family. To be Kings and Priests in the soon coming Kingdom of Yahweh when Yahshuah, His Son returns to establish that Kingdom here on earth in preparation for the day when the Great and Almighty Father will come to dwell with His children forever.
I would like to conclude this chapter with a excerpt from, ”Your Awesome Future”, Herbert W. Armstrong, Worldwide Church of God, Pasadena, California, 1978, pp 21-27.
"Created - But Why?
David was inspired to write, “Oh L-rd our L-rd, how excellent is they name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.... When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; what is man, that thou art mindful of him?” (Psalm 8:1, 3-4).
It may be that King David was not given revelation of the real connection between man and the stars of outer space, for he continues: “For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet: all sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field; the fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas. O L-rd our L-rd, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!” (Psalm 8:5-9)
David here limits man’s dominion to the present - that which G-d gave mankind in the creation of man - the solid earth, the earth’s atmosphere, and the waters and sea (as in Gen. 1:26-28).
That is the dominion man has now.
In the New Testament, written much later, far more is revealed.
Incredible Human Potential Revealed
In the book of Hebrews we read: “For unto the angels hath he [G-d] not put into subjection the world to come, whereof we speak” (Heb. 2:5). The theme of the context here is “the world to come.”
There is but one earth, but the Bible speaks of three worlds, ages, or civilizations on the earth - the “world that then was” (the antediluvian world from Adam to Noah); this “present evil world” (from the flood until Chr-st’s return, yet future); and “the world to come” (which starts when Chr-st comes and sets up the Kingdom of G- d).
This verse speaks of angels as if the world had been put in subjection to angels; in fact, in the very beginning of this book of Hebrews, the first chapter, it is speaking of Chr-st and angels and the relationship of angels to humans.
But bear in mind the general theme here, or context, is “the world to come, whereof we speak” -not this present age, now coming rapidly to its end! Continue on in verse 6: “But one in a certain place testified, saying ...” Then follows a quotation from the first six verses only of the eighth psalm.
In this psalm, David continued showing specifically that G-d now has placed in subjection under man the solid earth, the earth’s atmosphere or air, and the sea. But now the writer of the book of Hebrews is inspired to follow with something radically different -something to happen in the world to come!
This revealed knowledge of G-d’s purpose for mankind -of man’s incredible human potential -staggers the imagination. Science knows nothing of it -no religion reveals it, so far as I know -and certainly higher education is in utter ignorance of it.
Nevertheless, it is what G-d says He has prepared for them that love Him (I Cor. 2:9-10).
I have said before that G-d revealed necessary knowledge to our first parents, but they didn’t believe what He said! Some 4,000 years later, J-sus Chr-st appeared on earth with a message direct from G-d the Father in heaven, revealing the same necessary knowledge -but only a handful -a hundred and twenty -believed what He said, though many professed to “believe on Him” (as in John 8:30-32, 37-38, 40, 45-46).
Today science, religion, and education still do not believe what He said.
But now let’s see what is said in this passage in Hebrews, beginning where Hebrews leaves off quoting the eighth psalm: “Thou hast put all things in subjection under his [man’s] feet. For in that he [G-d] put all in subjection under him [man], he [G-d] left nothing that is not put under him” (Heb. 2:8).
Is it possible G-d could mean what He says (“all things”)? Nothing excluded?
In the first chapter, the Moffatt translation of the Bible renders the Greek word translated “all things” as “the universe.”
In other words, for those willing to believe what G-d says, He says that He has decreed the entire universe -with all its galaxies, its countless suns and planets -everything - will be put under man’s subjection.
But wait a minute! Before you disbelieve, read the next words in the same eighth verse: “But now we see not yet all things [the endless universe] put under him [man].” Remember (verse 5), this is speaking of the “world to come’ -not today’s world. But what do we see now, today? “But we see J-sus, who was made a little lower than the angels [or, “for a little while lower”] for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour.” Man, other than Chr-st, is not yet “crowned with glory and honour.”
But see how Chr-st is already crowned with glory and honour. Continue: “For it became him, for whom are all things [the entire universe] and by whom all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings....for which cause he [Chr-st] is not ashamed to call them brethren” (verses 10-11).
In other words, Chr-stians having G-d’s Spirit are joint-heirs with Chr-st to inherit all that Chr-st already has inherited. He is now in glory! he has already inherited the entire universe. He sustains it by His power. Man, if he is converted, having G-d’s Holy Spirit (Rom. 8:9), is now only an heir - not yet a possessor.
But see now how Chr-st already has been crowned with glory and honour -and is already in possession - has already inherited. Begin with Hebrews, chapter 1:
G-d...hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things [the entire universe], by whom also he made the worlds; who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding [sustaining] all things [the entire universe] by the word of his power...” (Heb. 1:1-3).
The living Chr-st already sustains the entire universe by His limitless divine power. The passage continues to show His superiority over the angels -He is the begotten and born son of G-d -angels are merely individually created beings. Angels are now administering spirits (invisible to us), ministering to us -to us who are now in lower status than angels -but who are heirs to salvation, when we, like Chr-st, shall become born sons of G-d (Heb. 1:4-14).
Outer Space -Planets Now Dead
Now put this together with what is revealed in the eighth chapter of Romans.
Here it speaks of Chr-st as G-d’s Son: “...that he might be the firstborn among many brethren” (Rom. 8:29). Humans, having G-d’s Holy Spirit are heirs of G-d and joint-heirs with Chr-st -who alone of all humans, has already been born as G-d’s Son by a resurrection from the dead (Rom. 1:4). He is the first of the human family to be born into the family of G-d -the Kingdom of G-d. He is our pioneer who has gone on before. We shall follow at the resurrection of the just at Chr-st’s return to earth in supreme power and glory.
This eighth chapter of Romans, verse 9, says if we have within us the Holy Spirit of G-d we are His begotten sons, but if we do not have His Spirit we are none of His -not Chr-stians at all. But verse 11 says that if we have G-d’s Holy Spirit growing within and leading us we shall be raised from the dead by His Spirit -(or if living when Chr-st comes we shall be changed from mortal to immortal).
Now continue: “For as many as are led by the Spirit of G-d, they are the sons of G-d.... The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of G-d: and if children, then heirs; heirs of G-d, and joint-heirs with Chr-st., if so be that we [in this life] suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us...” (Rom. 8:14-18).
Continue, (Revised Standard Version): “For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of G-d; for the creation [all the suns, planets, stars, moons] was subjected to futility, not of its own will but by the will of him who subjected it in hope; because the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and obtain the glorious liberty of the children of G-d. We know that the whole creation [stars, suns, planets, and moons, now in decay and futility] has been groaning in travail together until now; and not only the creation but we ourselves [we spirit begotten human beings], who have the first fruits of the Spirit [the very few now being called to salvation -the “firstfruits“] groan
inwardly as we wait for the [birth] as sons” (verses 19-23).
What a marvelous revelation of knowledge!
No more amazing, awesome, eye-opening passage could be written!
It is so astonishingly revealing, one doesn’t fully grasp it just reading quickly through.
First I quoted from verse 29 of Romans 8 stating Chr- st was the firstborn of many brethren.
In Hebrews 1, we see that Chr- st, the first human to be born by a resurrection from the dead, has been glorified and
now sustains the entire universe, He is our pioneer who has gone ahead.
At His return to earth in power and glory those who have been converted and received G-d’s Holy Spirit shall be born into the G-d Family by a resurrection. Then the entire universe will be put into subjection under them!
Then from Romans 8, if we have and are led by the Holy Spirit of G-d, we shall be raised to Spirit composition and immortality in the G-d Family even as Chr-st was in A.D. 31 upon His resurrection.
Now once again from verse 19, “For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of G-d” (RSV). This shall happen at the time of the resurrection, when those who were human actually become -by a resurrection or instantaneous change from mortal flesh to Spirit immortality - sons of G-d.
Now understand please. Why should the whole universe -creation -be waiting with eager longing for the actual birth and appearing of all these sons of G-d, to be born into the Family of G-d? The following verses portray a universe filled with planets in decay and futility -yet as if subjected now to this dead state in hope! “Because the creation itself [the universe not now capable of sustaining life] will be set free from its bondage to decay and obtain the glorious liberty of the children of G-d“.
How did all the planets fall into the bondage of decay? Surely G-d did not so create them!
Decay signifies a state or condition caused by degeneration and decomposition from a previous undecayed state. G-d, then, created these planets in a state of nondecay. But something caused deterioration to set in.
What could have caused all this “bondage to decay”?
It cannot be the state in which G-d created them! Everything we read in G-d’s revealed Word about G-d’s creation shows it to have been “very good.” Angels who were perfect from the creation until iniquity or lawlessness was found in them, caused the whole surface of the earth to turn into a state of decay, confusion and emptiness.
Could the whole universe have been created capable of sustaining life? We are not told specifically by revelation in G-d’s Word whether it was or not, but what we are told throws additional light on why G-d decided to create man!
Continue this passage in Romans 8:22: “We know that the whole creation [universe] has been groaning in travail together until now.” Consider that the creation is compared to a mother about to be delivered of her child. The creation is pictured as groaning in travail in hope (verse 20), awaiting the birth by resurrection to immortality, of the children of G-d. It is as if the creation is the mother and G-d is the father. Anyway the whole thrust of the passage is that when we (converted humans) are born of G-d -then having the power and glory of G-d -we are going to do as G-d did when this earth had been laid “waste and empty” -Hebrew tohu and bohu (Gen. 1:2). Chr-st, who renewed “the face of the earth” (Psalm 104:30), was renewing what had been destroyed by the rebellion of the sinning angels.
What these wonderful passages imply and indicate goes far beyond the amount specifically revealed.
This passage indicates precisely what all astronomers and scientific evidence indicate -the suns are as balls of fire, giving out light and heat; but the planets, except for this earth, are in a state of death, decay and futility -but not forever -waiting until converted humans are born into the very divine Family of G-d, forming the Kingdom of G-d.
J-sus’ gospel was the Kingdom of G-d. Chr-st’s gospel of the Kingdom actually includes all this knowledge here revealed -even the whole universe is to be ruled by us, who, with G-d the Father and Chr-st, become the Kingdom of G-d.
G-d is first of all creator, but G-d is also Ruler. And He is Educator, who reveals knowledge beyond and outside the scope of human mind of itself to comprehend!
Put together all these scriptures , and you begin to grasp the incredible human potential. Our potential is to be born into the G-d Family, receiving total power! We are to be given jurisdiction over the entire universe!
What are we going to do then? These scriptures indicate we shall impart life to billions of dead planets, as life has been imparted to this earth. We shall create, as G-d directs and instructs. We shall rule through all eternity! Revelation 21 and 22 show there will then be no pain, no suffering, no evil, because we shall have learned to choose G-d’s way of good. It will be an eternal life of accomplishment, constantly looking forward in super-joyous anticipation to new creative projects, and still looking back also on accomplishments with happiness and joy over what shall have been already accomplished.
We shall never grow tired and weary. Always alive -full of joyous energy, vitality, exuberant life and strength and power!
